Dahma Nadira

This mare
is the culmination of two long sought
dreams. The first and longest sought was
adding
Kamars Sharif's blood
to my herd. It almost scares
me to think of how long I had this dream,
since the 1977. It was in the summer
of 1977 that I first met
Kamars Sharif,
first as a student at Ellie Prince's
Horsemanship School at Sodergreen Ranch in
Wyoming, and the next year as a ranch hand
where I got a chance to work with him.
He was a dream, so easy to handle, even
when teasing and breeding (although I was
not the handler at that time, Ellie was).
When I started to own Straight Egyptian
mares, I hoped to go to the source
but sadly,
Kamars Sharif
was no longer available. So I went
searching for SE stallions with his
bloodlines and was dismayed at how few
there were. Fortunately one just happened
to be in my own state! That is how I met
Kimberli Nelson and her beautiful black
Sharif son,
Meadow
Mahonri.
It was like seeing Sharif all over again.
Still one may wonder why I didn't breed
one of my mares to him immediately.
That is another story in itself and how
Hallanny Mistanny came to me.
Suffice it to say, it wasn't meant to be.
I needed to find the value of the Sheykh
Obeyds first. What I didn't realize
back in 1977 was that
Kamars Sharif
was not only Straight Babson and Straight
Egyptian, but he was also a rare Sheykh
Obeyd! Kimberli opened my eyes to the
value of these rare jewels of the desert.
I was in love. I still valued my
SE/AK mares but now I had a new goal, to
form my own Sheykh Obeyd program. I
had my stallion in Hallanny Mistanny with
the precious Hallany Mistanny and
Saafaddan lines. I only lacked my
mare. With the addition of Meadow
Mahonri's beautiful daughter, Dahma
Nadira to my program, I bring in
Kamars Sharif blood on top and the beautiful
Daal Aba through her dam, Masada Alissa,
who has been a very successful endurance
competitor!
Dahma
Nadira is a lovely young chestnut mare
with spice and the ability to impress with each step she
takes. Expected to mature very tall and beautiful with the potential to go
far! What a
foundation to build a program on! Can't
wait to see what she and Hallanny produce
in 2010 - THINK PINK!
Thank you
Kimberli
for helping me acquire this lovely mare!
